APHILOS is a modular ecosystem for your iPad. It begins as a precision stand and expands into everything your workflow demands, through a single universal interface.
Patent pending · Consolidated provisional filed · 2026
The Problem
You've invested in one of the most powerful portable computers ever made. Then you prop it against a book, or buy a stand that does one thing and nothing else. When your needs evolve, you start over.
APHILOS is built on a different premise. A modular platform that begins where you are today and expands as your work changes. The case is the entry point. The stand is the anchor. Everything else connects through the same interface.
Engineered with precision friction hinges, an 8-pin pogo electrical interface, and a rotational bayonet accessory system protected by a consolidated provisional patent.
The System
Every angle, every hinge, every surface engineered to feel inevitable. 6061-T6 aluminum throughout. Type III hard anodize. No flex, no wobble, no compromise.
The bayonet interface is the platform. Every module locks with approximately 30 degrees of rotation and a spring detent click. One interface. A growing ecosystem.
When you need something new, you add a module. You don't replace the whole system. 10,000-cycle bayonet rating. 50,000-cycle friction hinge. Hardware designed to age well.
The Platform
Magnetic alignment guides the connection.
Bayonet lock holds under sustained load.
Contact-after-lock sequencing activates power.
System expands without breaking the interface.
Rollout
The foundation. Precision friction hinge, 8-pin pogo electrical interface, bayonet case attachment. Everything connects from here.
Kickstarter LaunchSelf-tensioning oval grip for handheld use. Premium USB-C cable designed for the shadow recess port. Attaches via the same universal bayonet interface.
Coming SoonModules
Each module extends capability without changing the core interface. Every accessory ships with the same rotational bayonet, the same pin geometry, the same system.
Stand
Weighted aluminum cantilever. Enclosed 8-rail electrical spine. Concealed constant-torque friction hinge.
Wave 1Smart Case
Three-layer composite. Embedded 6061-T6 reinforcement plate. Dual-purpose bayonet receptacle for stand and all accessories.
Wave 1Grip Module
Elastic-core self-tensioning strap. Micro-fleece bonded underside. Oval 120x80mm CNC aluminum shell.
Wave 2Future Modules
Speaker, hub, battery, drafting stand. All share the universal bayonet interface. Vote at fairplatforms.co
RoadmapEngineering
Geometry, alignment, and material decisions are controlled across every component. Every spec below is locked and documented.
Max power delivery
Via 8-pin pogo · 20V/5A
Electrical rails
26mm bolt circle · gold plated
Hinge cycle rating
Constant torque · Krytox sealed
Bayonet rotation to lock
Multi-lug · spring detent
Material
6061-T6 Aluminum
CNC machined throughout. Type III hard anodize, 20-25 micron. Glass bead 100-120 mesh pre-anodize. Midnight charcoal and Midnight Ocean deep navy.
Interface
Contact-After-Lock
Electrical contact only engages at full bayonet lock. Never during insertion or rotation. Enforced entirely by geometry, not software or sensors.
Case Construction
Three-Layer Composite
PC outer shell with embedded 6061-T6 reinforcement plate, overmolded TPU inner layer. All attachment loads transfer through aluminum, not polymer.
Arm Architecture
Flat Panel Cantilever
135mm wide flat aluminum panel arm with internal 10mm cable channel. Transitions into base via smooth radiused blend. Reads as a single monolithic form.
Drop Standard
MIL-STD-810H
Method 516.8. Stand tested to 90cm, case to 120cm. 26 multi-axis drops. The same standard used for military field equipment.
Base
Weighted Foundation
230x185x24mm rectangular aluminum base. 900g rear-biased steel ballast. Tilt-release magnetic cover plate. Shadow-recess USB-C port at rear underside.
